Giant Ko Sahn road

Chiang mai is a favourite of the tourists. So many people seem to love it. If i was a tourist travelling for a few weeks i think i would too.

Instead it is just a joke. It is a big city (pop. 1.9 million) that now caters for tourists alone. It is hard just to find a local market for dinner. 'Hill tribe ladies' will actually sell you their 'authentic' tribal hats which go so well with the jeans and t-shirt they are also wearing to complete their traditional image.

To be honest we haven't looked around too much and I'm sure you could get away from this. But I think to do so you really need to go trekking or elephant riding - what the city is famous for as well as its night bazaar. This night bazar is like a huge sprawling Ko Sahn road.
